In which the Author returns to the internet after a considerable hiatus, only to let everyone down with a sub-rate babble about having a cold.
So yes, I got fed up with seeing the same post at the top of this for the past six months.

I have a cold. It's one of those colds that rightly isn't quite enough to garner decent levels of sympathy - or, at least, not without getting suspicious about it - but still significantly undermines my ability to, y'know, function.

A man called the office this afternoon with some smart-arsed comment about an email I'd sent. Usually, my response would be to fend him off with ersatz cheeriness, because that's what comes naturally: today, I could barely string together a sentence and left with the distinct feeling he'd added a point or two to his entirely dubious Psychological Point-O-Meter. Although possibly I could be over-reaching with the phone-based psychoanalysis somewhat.

Ugh, yes, I know. Useless bit of writing. But the trick to easing yourself back into 'it', so I've read, is to write something in the white space (honestly, 'Create Entry'? Could they call the act of using words to express human emotion something less appealing, perhaps, like 'ENTER TEXT STRING HERE_'?). And apparently next time it's much, much easier, and you don't feel like you're wasting everyone's time while at the same time, paradoxically, being under no illusions that nobody's reading to have their time wasted in the first place.

But still, you can't blame me for the uselessness. As I said: cold.

I didn't write about Radiohead's King of Limbs at the time of its release a couple of months ago, mainly because I didn't have much to add beyond what seemed to be the critical consensus of 'Nice, but nothing amazing'. I can't say that the album...
