Journal Monday 14 March

At the end of last year, I bought a new computer. It is large with the shiny, which is always enjoyable, but I also got it to serve a purpose: to poke myself towards sorting out loads of things that I'd let slide: organising my stuff, staying in better touch with people, working productively from home.

Of these, keeping in better touch with people is almost certainly the most important. I've had the same email address since I first got an email account, back in 1998: it's a Hotmail one, and I was pretty pleased to be able to get my name, without any irksome underscores or full stops or inexplicable number strings. But it's increasingly become a burden, with what I can only assume are repeated password hacks and spam mail-outs.

So, from 1 April, I'm going to discontinue using it. I mean, I'll still check it infrequently, but I'm going to stop it feeding into my mail client and won't be sending anything out from that address. This will be a nice thing. From now on, then, if you could direct stuff to me at my first name at mattelton.com, that'd be lovely. Thank you.

Following my usual timelapse of being about four months behind the rest of the universe, I finally got round to watching Inception just after Christmas. You know, Inception? It's a film. You may have heard of it.The surprising thing, I thought, was how very confusing I...
← I didn't write about Radiohead's King of Limbs at the time of its release a couple of months ago, mainly because I didn't have much to add beyond what seemed to be the critical consensus of 'Nice, but nothing amazing'. I can't say that the...
